LGTF is currently seeking its first grant funding to expand a classroom sponsorship model that has already been successfully self-funded, tested, and implemented through pilot programming. Early initiatives demonstrated strong student engagement, classroom participation, and program scalability while operating without grant support. Grant funding will help LGTF extend access to more schools, classrooms, and students through hands-on gardening, agriculture, and STEM-based learning experiences.
The Little Green Thumb Foundation (LGTF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children explore gardening, agriculture, and STEM learning through hands-on educational experiences. LGTF serves elementary schools, classrooms, teachers, and students by providing engaging programs that encourage creativity, environmental awareness, and a deeper understanding of planting and growing.
Through its classroom sponsorship model, LGTF partners with donors, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community supporters to provide sponsored access to classroom garden programs. Sponsored schools receive educational materials, garden kits, and digital learning resources that make hands-on agricultural learning accessible to students at no cost to the classroom.

Your donation and grants help fund the LGTF Digital Garden Program for classrooms, giving students access to hands-on garden kits and the Growums digital learning platform. Through interactive videos, games, and activities, students learn about gardening, nutrition, and where food comes from in a fun and engaging way.

LGTF has not yet received grant funding and has instead developed its programs through self-funded pilot initiatives and sponsor-supported partnerships. Early classroom testing through the Growums Michigan Pilot helped demonstrate strong student engagement, classroom participation, and the ability to successfully operate the program at scale before pursuing grant opportunities. Building on that success, America The Beautiful Foundation will sponsor 100 schools across all 50 states in Fall 2026, further validating the program’s national growth potential and educational impact.
Grants will go to the Digital Garden Program. The budget is estimated at approximately $450 per classroom, averaging about $25 per student, to provide garden kits, digital learning access, and educational program materials
